Ashden Awards 2021 is looking for outstanding initiatives tackling climate crisis.
Entries for the 2021 Ashden Awards have opened with categories including greener communities, energy access, green skills, natural climate solutions, sustainable cooling and humanitarian energy.
The annual awards aims to “highlight trailblazing climate solutions in the public, private and charity sectors” in the UK and low income countries. Winners will receive a grant of up to £20,000, publicity, business support and networking opportunities to boost their ideas.
Ashden CEO Harriet Lamb said: “We’re looking for initiatives than can spark radical progress, showing us the way to a low carbon future, and that deliver genuine climate justice. They should empower those most at risk from climate change, such as by refugees or indigenous people.”
Moreover, this year a new award has been added for initiatives supporting greener communities in the UK. “As the countdown to the crucial COP26 climate talks begins, we look forward to uncovering bold, brilliant and brave ideas that will power a green recovery.”
Entries are open now, and close on 17 March 2021 with winners announced in Autumn.
